YOU are a Beautiful Possibility

NOV 6th 2008
OMG...has it really been six months? Holy Moly (is that how to spell moly?). Been crazy busy. Got hooked up with this really cool musical called Baby its You. Its in previews right now at the Coast Playhouse in W Hollywood. Its very fun and yet another very different experience for me. One of the greatest parts is the people that I get work with...Richard Perry, Lynne Davis, Linda Taylor, Jonathan Sanger, Geno Henderson. It has been amazing. Its been keeping me really busy- between school, BIY, lessons, parenting, and of course the most important thing on my plate....my music and my band.

I just hired a campaign manager. Her name is Melissa Teper. Her specialty is radio. She is amazing and has started the campaign for the record which will be totally tracked TODAY!!! Yes TODAY!!!! Linda is coming over to lay down some guitar and thats it. Then Bob finishes mixing it, Bob Weitz will be mastering it, the artwork is almost completed by Mac, photo session on Monday, distribution deal through OnWard and Upward, website on the way (a more kick ass one than this).

The record is amazing everyone!!! And the title is "The Beginning of the World" which I feel timed perfectly. (I heart Barack Obama).

Many of you know we have been playing lots of shows at Cafe Belissimo- many have you have been to these shows. They have been a lot of fun and a great way to gear up for the launching of a new day for The Lisa Parade. If you would like to help us and are available to help us, please contact Melissa at LisaParadePR@hotmail.com... we would love that.

Anyways. Thanks and much love
Lisa Parade

Today is my sister Susan's birthday. I just realized it when I typed the date in. She lives in Oakland. Ill call her after this entry.

Livin the dream.

Lovin all our fans. You are amazing.

Working so hard at getting our music heard.

Got lots going on. Lots of pots on the stove. Lots of irons in the fire. I like being at this place.

Everyday lately seems to be filled with people who give a shit. Am I changing or is the world changing???? ..probably me...as I get older, I have less tolerance for stuff that I don't want to be around.

Love my band
Love my family
Love Brucie

March 27th 2008

I was planning on doing some travelling this vacation but the flights are so expensive right now that I made a decision to stay home and get caught up on stuff and chill our and enjoy my beautiful home.

Some very upsettting news that my friend's youger brother died. He was only 21. It has really made me feel sad all week.

Been doing sooooo much and its so much nice to just slow down and talk to people and not rush through everything.

My friend Sheila and I are making a TV commercial for one of the political candidates (BO). Its a competition. I think we could win. Even though we are doing it on IMOVIE, you feel something when you see this video!!! For all of you that have been in it thus far, thank you and I hope we win this election...things are looking up people!!!!

March 23rd 2008

Thank You so much for Friday night. It was an AMAZIng time for us. I hope you had as much fun as we did. I wish the sound was better on the first half, but luckily we had Kevin to help us on the second half. I heard a recording from the show and I thought it sounded pretty cool!!!!.

Werent the kids great. I was so proud of them.

Today is Easter Sunday. That used to mean so much when I was little. My three sisters and I would all dress in matching dresses and we would go to church or later to my grandparents house for an egg hunt. I was such a tomboy and really hated those dresses. They were always pastel colors too. I think my parents were trying to impress my grandparents.

Today I had brunch with my family. Then I had dinner over my friend Sheila's house with her family. I took Bob to the airport too so he could fly back to Nashville to finish the "Blackstone Cherry" album. I was going to visit him this week becuae my school is on vacation, but the flight prices are sooooo high and I just cant justify paying that much. So Ill see him in about 3 weeks..three weeks of major kick-ass work!!!!!No dillydalliying LP.

Feb 28th 2008

Feeling like Im paddling sooooo hard. I know things are moving but it never feels like its fast enough and then a huge chunk of time goes by and Im like..."that was fast"

I love being around my students. All these young musicians. They feed my well. We all need our well fed. For me feeding my well is being around my students, being in the studio, going to the ocean, listening to music, excersizing, doing my morning pages, dreaming about all the crazy shit I wanna do, being with my family, being with my friends, eating yummy foods, drinking coffee at coffee shops, travelling.

Things that drain my well are: being in negative environments, listening to people complain about stupid shit, watching too much television, GUILT, worrying. I tend to be a bit of a worrier.

Bobby and I had a date tonite. We went to the movies and ate dinner at PF Changs. Im not a big fan of that resturant, but I LOVE their chicken noodle soup. It is sooooo yummy.

Much Love

Feb 24th

Its flag day. i didnt see anything celebrating it today. I didnt hear about it on the radio or anything?? I just noticed it was flag day when I went to my calendar to check today's date so I could date this entry. Im going to Google flag day when Im done.

Just came back from Bella-donna Pheonix today. Had a couple of shows there. We had a blast. I met a couple who had been married for 53 years....Larry and Gloria. I took their picture too. They were soooo cool. I also met a guy from the PINA tribe who is going to mail me his life story. He says its quite the story and that I wont believe it!!

The oscars were tonite. I didnt see the movie that won best picture. I was too scared that I would have nightmares. I did see Persepolis. It was great. I also saw the Edith Pief movie. Loved that too. Chris and i made steak, mashed potato, and broccoli for dinner. It was YUMMY!!!!!!

Feb 3 2008

Im kinda bummed because New England just lost the superbowl. They really sucked tonite compared to how they usually are. I know alot of pleple are totally psyched that they lost, but screw them. Ill just have to wait til next year.

After the game, I went into the studio and finished a vocal for a new song called...well the working title is "Frenchie" because I thought I was going to sing the chorus in french but I decided I liked the sound of spanish more. But Im not gonna call it "Spanishy" I think it will be called Mi Amor. Its sexy though..at least I think so..

I ate a bagel for breakfast. I ate one for lunch. And I ate one for dinner. Not the healthiest day. Its just that these bagels are AMAZING and I bought a bakers dozen for only three of us. yummy. But no bagels for a while.

Started the artwork/credits for the record today. Still not sure. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them...I think we are calling the record "The Beginning of the World"

Much love till next time

I February 2nd 2008

Another month goes by and so much happens. Great times, tough times and inbetween times. So much gets done and it never feels like things are getting done..but in the inbetween times, I remembr that they are.

I think about meeting myself when I was like 18...wondering where I would be now. I dont I would have ever imagined. I have a family who supports, respects and loves me, an amazing teaching job that makes me genuinely happy, I have a band of total badasses that love the music I write and are happy to play it, I get to spend time being introspective with music, lyrics, and on-line journals, I get to surround myself with creative, energetic, insightful people who love to talk, think, and argue. I get to eat everyday and sleep in a cozy bed every night. If I only knew then that I would be livin the dream!!!

Blah, Blah, Blah...Im just happier when I remember all of this.

Things have been going really great. The band is full of love and musicianship. Thought I would list all the people in the band right now...Lisa Parade and Brucie, Bob Marlette on keys, Lisa R as dancing BUp singer, Lenny (PFFOFG) on the Glock, Matty on the bass, Ivan on the stand-up bass, Larry or Chris QUATRO on the drums. if you hvent been out in a while, its pretty awesome these days! Oh yeah...but we really miss Paul.....

So the big news is that we have scheduled our CD release party for MAY. We have 8 songs completed, 2 almost completed. 2 written and to be recorded over the next two weeks, and 2 that are not totally written but mostly. i think we may do a cover song too. Then Bobby will mix the whole thing. Gotta get the artwork going..have some basic ideas, but I think we may need to hire a pro to help us on this.

Make sure you watch "Miss Guided" this fall on ABC as our song "Beautiful Possibility" has been adopted as its theme song...YAY!

Got a new MARTIN D16 for Christmas from Bobby. Got it intonated, earvanna'd, and a preamp put in by my new guitar guy...HE IS AWESOME IF YOU NEED A GUITAR GUY!!!! Tell me if you do and Ill send you his way....

Love YOU
Lisa Parade

September 5th 2007

School started today. I dont have any classed until tomorrow, but it was so great to be back. I seriously love my job.

We just went to see WICKED. All day everyone has been going on and on about how amazing it was. Is it bad to say that I really didnt think it was that great? I thought the story was amazing...the Glinda character was incredible, but the music sounded like it was a sound track from EXTRA, or The Tony Danza show or Americas funniest videos or something. Someone will probably be totally offended that I feel this way, so sorry. I think it may be the style of writing that is popular right now for musicals. I guess Im just not into it. Oh but the sets were amazing. We had a great time. Plus I saw "The Rock" in the lobby.

Afterward, we went out to eat and I think it may be the worst Thia food I have ever eaten. Chris Threw up when we got home.

I know it probably sounds like Im in a bad mood, but not really..just had a series of just a little unfortunate events.

Im really looking forward to the show this weekend. Plus we are having a BBQ/Rehearsal on Friday night which should be a blast. Its always so much fun at the Verity.....maybe Ill see you there....XOXOLP

AUGUST 29th 2007

Hello everyone. My summer has been totally amazing. The band is going well. Hope you have heard the new songs, hope you make a comment too.

We were just at HENSON (I love you Jim Henson) last week to record three more drums tracks for three new songs. Then Georgia..the prodigy cellist..came in a few days later to record the cello orchesta...21 cellos...holy $#*%! does it sound cool. We add stand up bass on Tues..played by Ivan of course. i borrowed some Orff instruments and created an orff ensembe for another song that we are calling "Frenchie" for the time being. Its my first real love song. i guess Im branching out. But anyways, the album is turning into a very creative hodge-podge...smorgesbourge...catchatore....I love it. Of course having Bob there to get great sounds makes all the difference.

The band is sounding great. its funny because I have been playing very loud music for many years. i guess I like it LOUD. But when we turned the stage volume down just a bit, the sound clicked. But anyway, love my band!!!!

i lost a dear uncle today. He had pnumonia. I cant believe he is gone. His name was Dicky Pasquale. He was a Vietnam Marine Veteren. He was bald. He was a bad-ass magician. He was really really funny. Ill miss him.

Thats all for now.
Im Going to IHOP
Love
Lisa P

April 4th 2007

Hi everyone. Just got back from AMPS rehearsal room. Im playing drums at a HIGHschool arts fair. The band are old students of mine (they are not old, they are just older thatn 6th grade) and they need a drummer so Im helping them out. We are playing an Evanescence song. I got to rock out on the drums again. They sounded great too. Love those kids!

But then afterwards, I jammed with a drummer. He is a guy that I met at a rehearsal for a Barmitzvah I am playing. His name is Andree and he plays Trombone, keyboard and drums. He played like Maceo Parkers drummer. He was such a bad ass. He is playing wiith us on the 28th.....along with other surprise guests...

Going to go to Anabah tongiht for Indian food- a staple in my family- mmmmmmmm....

Much Love.LisaP

April 1st 2007

Well the other night was kind of an experiment to try to bring the Funbox and Parade concept to our live show. Thank you for making it work. Thank you Thank you for being part of what was such an awesome night. Thank you to Kevin and Ian at the Verity room too. If you werent there I dont think I can paint an acuarate picture...but come the next time...you wont wish you didnt.

Just saw Meet the Robinsons...a must see.

Tonight at the Sagebrush Cantina...woohoo....

Next new song will be up within the Next two days...whatchugonnado?

love Lisa P

Hi everyone. Its raining out today. Kinda gloomy. Finally finished mixing Beautiful Poss today. You have probably heard it if you are here. If you havent, go to the music part of the site. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. In a few minutes we are going to track some bass and hopefully record some vocals. Then Ill finish off the evening with 24. J A C K !

I waited with my stepdaughter's car today for a tow truck and had a very inspiring talk with the TT driver. He has been homeless for 6 months and has been sleeping in his truck but he moves into his new apartment on Friday. He was so happy about it and it made me remember how grateful I should be for a roof over my head. His name was William.
anyways.
Love you
LisaP

March 23rd 2007

So yeah..its been more than three days. I hate breaking promises.

My vacation began today. Two weeks off. Two weeks of pure music obsession. Two weeks of sleeping in. Two weeks of whatever.

Had an emergency today. Well it was actually someone elses bad planning and it became my emergency...how does that happen?

I played basketball with 12, I mean 13 years olds too. (one was taller than me) It was fun (even though I pretty much got my ass kicked) and it reminded me to stop and do things like that more often.

We had a rehearsal last night with Larry and "Bass Face" Matty. It was awesome. Im so psyched for this weeks show. We are doing all kinds of crazy things because we are shooting the video. Its an all ages show...5 bucks...I think its going to be so much fun...

Anyways. Im not going to promise, but I hope to be back wicked soon...

much much love
LisaP

March 6, 2007
OK. Im starting the journals up again...finally yay.

Im feeling very inspired right now. The new record is coming along amazingly. Its going to be an EP. The songs are going to be...

Beautiful Possibility (name of release too)
Whom I gonna turn to now
Fallout Shelter
The Beginning of the World
Whatchu gonna do with yur life?

Wait til you hear it...its our best work yet...Im co-producing wht Bob Marlette. We are having much much fun too...So far we have used clarinet, saxophone, accordian, glockenspeil (PV), and stand-up bass....Ivan from the Nate LaPointe band played it..what a badass!!! Brucie is playing mandolin too...and also Banjo. Im working on a vocal arrangemnt for Fallout Shelter in the style of "Because" by the Beatles...but basically every moment Im not at work or feeding my family, Im working on this record. All those years as a Band GEEK have finally paid off in the studio!

Anyways. I miss you. Brucie and I are playing out, so stay tuned!

Ok..promise. Ill be back within 3 days....with more news.
YOU are a beautiful possibilty

Love LisaP

...oh yeah, Go to ITUNES and type "out of the funbox"...then rate the record...

October 10th

Just got home from work. The kids were kind of noisy today. But still fun.

We (PARADE) played at the Valley crisis center fund raiser event this last saturday. It was fun. It was just me, brucie and Bob on bass...but it was really fun. Then on Sat night Brucie and I played with this other band at the Canyon Club..it was awesome- a packed show. Sunday morning my freind Sheila and I started up our old book club. Its not yur average book club...sometimes we do arts and crafts. We made "Gratitude Boxes" out of cigar boxes. So everyday since then, I write what I am thankful for and put the tiny notebook back into its box. Kinda hippie dippie I know, but I also know that Im happier when I remeind myself of all the great things around me. (is that a run-on sentence?)

Weve started our new record. Some of the songs are:

Whatchugonna Do
The Beginning of the world
Love, Hope, Fear
Is it any wonder
Whom I gonna turn to now
The Sun (co-written with GH)
Fallout shelter help
In Case I Die
And the rhythm changes
Get up, Fall, Get up
Hope it happens soon (co-written with Brucie)
Bridges (a cover song)

I think this new record is going to be different than the last...how? Not really sure. But I do know it will have more "air" in it. Also, I will be playing the drums and guitar, Bob will play the bass and keys, and Brucie will play guitar...so that alone will change the sound. Plus, Bob is co-producing with me. Im really Into the idea spending lots of time on cool tones and stuff. Alot more room mic in the drums mix. Im going to get crazy vocally on a couple...Love hope fear is an angry song...Fallout shelter is a vulnerable song so Im gooing to try wailing...you may never hear it as it depends on how it goes. Im planning on us getting our hands dirty and getting creative...but still with pop sensibiity.LOL

Anyways, we are days away from having "out of the Funbox" on itunes.

Miss you
XOXOXOXLisaP

October 2nd 2006.

Hello people. Hope you are all well. I just GOOGLEd myself and found site somebody posted with a bunch of old HEIDI things on it. Critiques mostly. But pictures and links too. it brought me back to the good old punk rock days. We sure had some great times. Ill put it somewhere on this site.

I played a show in VEGAS this past weekend. It was amazing!! A great time. We played nme that tune on the way there in the car with our IPODS. It made the time pass more quickly and I think we all came home with a few records to buy.

If you didnt notice, you can buy the record here on the site now....YAY!!!!! It will be up on Itunes soon too. So stay tuned.

I met cher the other day in the bathroom at a movie threatre in CALABASAS. I wanted to tell her that we sang one of her songs for step-up. What is step-up, you say?? Well the reason I didnt bring it up with her it because its really hard to effectivly describe, but basically its the end of the year expravaganza at my school...."if I could turn back time....."

There was a lady today in the parking lot of my Starbucks that was emptlying her trash from her car onto the ground. I was so mad!! I had to say something and I did..How disgusting and rude. Right???

I like starbucks. I like it for many reasons. i know that it may be "evil" to some people. But I like the taste of the coffee and I like that they provide sooooo much health care too..and I like that they do stuff for our failing environment.

Anyways
LP loves you

September 4th 2006

The summer is over and I havent written. My students are more grown up...way more grown up. Ill start with new students next week and in no time, they will be more grown up too.

My summer was awesome. Travelled some, worked at a summer "music academy", got my recording studio up and running, read lots of books, wrote lots of songs, did lots of summery things.

PARADE has a couple of "shows" coming up. PARADE is like a river now and I like it that way. Its Brucie and I and whoever we ask to play with us...it changes gig to gig. We are having so much fun. Also, we signed with a distribution company called "Onward and Upward" and pretty soon PARADE music will be for sale worldwide through Itunes, napster, hear music and like thirty more...so thats pretty cool.

Brucie bought a Harley Davidson over the summer. HOT!!!!!

May 28th 2006

Has it really been a month since Ive been here? Wow, I cant beleive it. Its been a great month. Ill go backwards starting with today. I just got home from "Fiesta Hermosa" Bella Donnas played. Thats this band I'm in. Its a Stievie Nicks cover band and it is so much fun. Im a backup singer. Today was my first show with them. The people in the band are super nice and the gigs are coperate type functions (and fiestas too) After we played for like 90 minutes, we hung out at the beach and did summery types of things like drinking alchohol and frolicking in the waves. I just got home like an hour ago and its 9pm. We are going to Xmen 3 in a few minutes...in fact Im going to continue this journal when I get home.....I love you

April 28th

I met Bobby five years ago today when he came to Boston to see HEIDI. So its kind of our aniversary. We celebrated by going to Starbucks. I had tea.

I went to a book signing tonight. It all started when I saw an interview on Good Morning America. There was this kid. He was like 11 years old in a wheek chair. His name was Mattie. He had a rare form of Muscular Distrophy. But anyway, when he grew up, he wanted to be a "Peacemaker". He wrote poetry and got several books published. Then he was on Oprah and got to meet his hero, Jimmy Carter. Annyways, he died and his dying wish was that all his his work that he had done on PEace get published. His mother made sure that happened. This book has changed my life. The signing was by his mother and Sean Asten. Im so inspired. I think this kid was an angel...the book is called, "Just Peace". You should go and buy it and then read it.

It was cool too, because I had met Sean Asten before but "thought he looked familiar". We had this conversation where I was trying to figure out "where I knew him from" and "what mutual friends we may have"...until like 3 days later when I realized "oMG, that was Sam!!!". But tonight, I was able to redeem myself.

I came to a realization today about music. That it belongs to EVERYONE!!!! People that are badass' on their instruments and people who cant carrry a tune in a bag. No one should feel more entitled than another. It is all ours. Everyone deserves it. Everyone deserves to listen to it, appreciate it, play it, love it, hate it, discard it..It belongs to us all!!....What a gift.

April 23rd, 2006

Thanks for all that came out to the GIG last night. Good times. The show felt a little wierd..I think it was because Andy Dick was there....but still as usual, we had a great time.

I wanna thank all of you that came over for the Easter Egg hunt. Good times. I know ANdy Dick wasnt there, but man that was fun!!!

I never wrote about our recording session. We did it at Henson studios....you may know it as "the old A&M lot" which is what some people still insist on calling it. "We are the world" was recorded there as well as like thousands other famous records. Jaime Sickora was our engineer. She was also one of the engineers on our full length. She is a great engineer and has worked on countless records...We recorded "Beninning of the World" which is our newest creation. We have only played it live like two times. We are not totally done with the recording... but mostly. It came out soooo great. Plus Sir Paul McCartney was recording next door!! I didnt see him, but Brucie did...so cool.

Things are going well though. Feels really busy and hectic which doesnt always feel good, but I know it is...its the only way. If this was easy, everyone would do it.

Its fun to be writing new songs though. Weve been playing the songs off the record so much over the past year or so. We have another song thats almost done called "Whom I gonna turn to Now". I dont know if that is correct grammar, but I dont care because it sounds good when I sing it in the song. Its in 6/8 time...you know...the beat...say this, but say "one" and "four" a little louder than the other numbers..."one two three four five six one two three four five six one two three four five six one two three four five six"...see, thats the feeling of the new song.

I live in a music house where my main man is a producer. We have a recording studio at the house so there are always muscians here...coming and going..The band that is here now is called SALIVA (I know, gross) (maybe you have heard of them) They are the nicest guys and this record sounds really cool too. They are from Memphis Tenn, so they talk funny like Brucie!!

Anyways...thats all for now...stay tuned...I write soon...and please drop me a line....

Much Love LisaP

April 11th 2006.

Went back to work yesterday after a two week "vacation". Im glad to be back because I love being around the kids but I dont like being back in the rat race of craziness. Its the only way right now though. Plus all the things that I do make me better at all the other things. BTW, did you see the video in the fun stuff section???

We have officailly been invited back for the battle of the bands final round. If we win, we win money which we would spent on a tour to the east coast for the NEMO conference.

We are going into HENSON tomorrow to record "The Beginning" Im so psyched. Its a last minute thing...but yay. That studio is amazing and the people that work there are also amazing.

OUr next show was supposed to be at the HOTEL cafe on the 22nd of APRil, but due to some shenanagins, it has been moved to the GIG (but still same date and time). The GIG is a better stage for us anyway...big stage, big lights, big sound, big, big, big. Its Karens Bday on the 22nd too...

In case you havent heard, we have officailly signed with esquire Barbie Baylis. We love that her name is Barbie and we think she is the bomb!!! WE have some exciting things going on and she is repesenting us just perfectly.

We will be putting some of you PARADERS on the guest list for our next show...do YOU want to be on the guest list????Please write and let us know.

MUCH love XOXOX Lisa P

April 3rd 2006

So here we are on post gig day. Its the perfect post gig day- raining- slow- kinda lazy and glum. Perfect day to lay some vocals down on this new parade song we tracked the other day. Iil just go into the other room and become one with my 16 track recorder. I know to be doing it on qbase or pro-tools or even garage band would be so much cooler, but I love my 16 track recorder.

We had a great show at BB Kings last night. Thanks to all of you that make it out. It was so nice to see so many of you...Schubeedooobeeedooo... It was the battle of the bands. They have invited us back for the semifinals on May 29th- yay. There was this other band there called "The HEadless Horsemen". They were young and excited. They played lots of metallica songs. They had heart. I really liked them. Plus they were super nice guys too.

He have been so busy. Everyday there is something going on. Its fun working this hard. Its the only way. I guess if was easy, everybody would do it.

SEE YOU AT THE HOTEL CAFE ON APRIL 22nd

BE SURE TO CHECK BACK TO SEE OUR NEW PHOTOS
and write to us too
Much love
Lisa P

ps GH, youre a star

Hello all. Thanks to everyone that made it out to the GIG on Friday. It was a blast. We hope you had fun. It was so cool when Jilly B came up on stage and sang "FLORA" with us. You know she was the singer of my old band HEIDI. We were an all girl punk rock band from BOSTON (remember thats why I talk funny) Our bass player, Susan Lutin, has created a blog on my space about our HEIDI experience. Its really funny. If you want to read it, go to myspace.com/loveaparade and she is our very first friend...susan.

Anyways back to Friday. I really liked playing the new song, "the Beginning" and I think it will stay in the set. The song is about alot of things but check out the lyrics in the lyrics section. I just decided as I am writing this to add them.

Did you like our flowers and lights? The band after us was really cool- seven. Nice people and had a great show too..

Say tuned and mark your calendars
April 3rd at BB Kings
XOXO LisaP

March 23 2006

OMG. At school today where I work, we had a special guest for a fundraiser and we recorded one of his songs with our kids and I conducted (so did Kerry) and it was STEVIE WONDER!!!!!! Can you beleive that!!! It was so amazing. He is amazing and so nice. The kids did great too. wowza

XO Lisa P

March 14th 2006

Has it really been a week??? I can feel the full moon without looking up- Im more optomistic and patient and happy on and around full moons.

Brucie went to Arkansas for the weekend to see the fam. Thats why he talks "funny"...he is from the south. I know its weird, but sometimes I wish I had a southern accent. Its fun. In fact, when Im around him for more than an hour, I start to get one....I know I talk "funny" too, but its not "funny" to me..or my maaaaa

We have been writing like crazy. I love it. Smadar and Karen came over on Sunday and we tracked bass and drums to demo up a couple of new songs. I had monday off so I did a whole bunch of overdubs until my recorder froze and I lost almost all of it...ARgh......it sounded so good, but only two people heard it-me and my boyfriend...its like the big fish that got away. i re-recorded it tonight, but I dont think it came out as good. Greg was going to come over to track some guitars, but he got food poisenening--I hate when that happens.

Oh, I had a lesson with a famously famous amazing voice teacher. Now I have to practice. Who knew one voice lesson could make such an impact. Just wait 'til you hear me!!!!! (March 24th at the GIG) and for all you underagers April 3rd at BB Kings in Universal City walk....

Ok thats all for now.
Much Love
LisaP

March 7th 2006

Hello everyone. HK, AF and everyone. This low pressure rain weather is affecting everyone. Someone at school made cookies and it saved me today. It was just the energy I needed to get through the day. MMM.

We started to day with a morning rehearsal. We do most of our rehearsals in the morning since everyone is so busy. Its cool though we mangage to rehearse alot. Bob Marlette came down today and gave us some feedback. It was really cool. i cant wait for the next show.

We have a show at the Gig on the 24th. Then we are playing the battle of the bands at the beginning of april at BB Kings. RRRRR Has anyone ever done this before because they do it every few months. Should be fun. Plus its all ages and the food is pretty good too.

Karen is coming over tonight so we can write. More songs more songs more songs......good times

If you are reading this drop us a line........

Feb 26th 2006

Hi everyone. Its sunday here. Trying to get motivated to clean this neglected house. Maybe I spent a little too much time at my favorite coffee shop this morning..but I love my coffee shop.

We had a band meeting the other day and worked out the near future of parade. We just made a Music Video to "Music Thank you" (#13) Actually Christine made it and we love it. It will be up here on the site pretty soon so stay tuned. Our next show is scheduled for the Whiskey on March 23rd. Hopefully you can make it out.

I went to the Queen Mary yesterday for a big family event. I cant get through a family event without my mother insisting on me playing a song for the whole party. Kind of embarrasing, but usually Im glad I did when its over. I have an older sister who is a singer too and she gets it even worse than me.

Anyway, I better stop stalling and get this house in order.
Much Love
LisaP

Feb 19th 2006

Well last night was so much fun. Thanks to all that came out to support us...even in the rain and even with all that traffic around highland.

Did you like Smadar's pants???? Hopefully she will wear them next time in case you didnt get a chance to check them out. They are "wicked awesome!!"

My mom and dad (paul and sandy) were there all the way from Boston. My mom was the one shaking it to all the songs and then walking around with CDs after. Luckily she only had one drink from the bar because any more than that and it can get a bit well mmmm you know. My parents are really cool and I know they made made lots of friends last night. I hope you got a chance to meet them.

So whats next for PARADE???? Well we are going to be putting on another show next month. We will have more suprises for you. Keep checking back..

XOXOX Lisa P

Feb 14th

Its my grandmothers birthday today and I forgot to call her. Damn!!!! I have to call her tomorrow.

We had a rocking reheasal today. Im so psyched for our upcoming shows!!!!

How did Lisa P celebrate Valentines day????? I actually love the story of V day. The story goes back to the Roman times when marriage was banned because "they" didnt want the soldiers who were going off to war to have ties. They didnt want them to feel anything. They just wanted them to kill and have nothing to live for. They wanted them to forget about LOVE. So they banned marriage. And then this "saint" valentine was caught secrtely marrying people so he was stoned to death on Feb 14th. I think that is kind of sickly romantic. Thats the story I heard anyway.

But anyway. I spent most of the day with my beautiful students who I love very much. We sang "you are my Sunshine", wrote Haiku love poems and had puppets recite them. It was hysterical. Then Bella rocked the trombone and after only 2.5 lessons is ready for orchestra. You go girl!!!

I did other stuff for valentines day too, but Im kinda shy that way.

Anyway. I hope people come down to the show at the GIG on the 18th. We need you there!!!!!!

much much love XO LIsaP

Feb 5th ...2006

Superbowl Sunday. We had a kick ass rehearsal today. Love that!!! I left nervous and excited for the next one. Then I went home to catch the last three quarters of the game. At first I was for the Steelers and then there was all this blatent bull-*&%$ bad lame-ass calls favoring the Steelers and I complelety changed my mind. I gotta route for the underdog. But I still love Jerome Betis...who doesnt.

The Rolling Stones kicked ass in the half time show. Sixty plus years old and still rocking out to no backup tapes if front of an audience of like 60,000. I got to meet Mick Jagger while they were at Henson making their latest record and he was the coolest most modest guy. Made me me like the Rolling stones even more....

until next time XO Lisa P

Feb 3rd...2006

Im feeling pretty manic today. Im finally starting to feel sickless and its so exciting that Im on fast forward all day. We had a great rehearsal this morning starting at 10am?? Huh?? Its great though because then we are all done and the day is just begnning.

We have some surprizes for the show on the 18th (PLEASe COME).

Smadar and I went to the Aroma cafe for lunch after. i think Karen was going to come, but changed her mind. I had an amazing salmon sandwich. We are going to see Saucy Monkey at Mollys tonight. That should be cool.

I had DASH rehearsal (thats a band of 11 year olds that I work with) They always rock my socks constanly pushing every envelop they can think of. Sarah, the bass player, broke a upright bass string at the studio the other day. How bad-ass is that!!!!

Jan 31st 2006

I cant beleive Jan is already over. Feb is shaping up to be a great month with a bunch of shows and an appearance on QTV. Its a talk show out of Burbank. I guess Sandra Bernhart is the co-host now.

Ive had a great week despite a pretty bad cold. I had an amazing concert with my beautiful 5th and 6th graders on Thursday. The Jazz Band did "Bens Blues", the Orchestra did "The William Tell Overture" and "The Can Can" and the chorus of 90 did a bunch of awesome songs including "Boogie Woogie Bugle boy" They were amazing!!!! So much soul!!! So much Spirit!!!!Ill put some photos up when I get them.

Weve been doing alot of writing this month cause were going into the studio next month to record a couple of new songs. I have this little old school tape recorder that I carry around with me everywhere just putting down ideas as I go through my day...The thing is starting to fall apart which means Radioshack may be in my near future...

But as far as "Out of The Funbox" goes, we got some surprises for the show on the 18th of Feb (The GIG)

Stay tuned....XO Lisa P

Jan something or other 2006

Hi everyone....its Lisa P writing the first entry in the PARADE journal. Its Sunday and I spent most of the day doing stuff for the BAND. Some website stuff, a bunch phone calls, then I played FLORA ten times on the drums and then played piano for like an hour trying to remember some old songs in the hopes of getting them down on tape (or hard-drive). We had a band meeting over dinner in Silver LAke that got me all charged up for the newest PARADE sites. I had vemacelli noodles with this yummy peanut suace, mmmm. I left my hat at the resturant and had to go back to get it because I love that hat!!

I hope you like our new site. We will have pics up of the whole band real soon as soon as we have another show and photographer in the same place at the same time....

Keep checking back....XOXO Lisa P
